Lisarow railway station is located in Lisarow on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia on the Newcastle & Central Coast Line. The station has two platforms. The station is served by intercity trains to Sydney & Newcastle. Passengers are to alight from the rear 4 carriages of a train heading both northbound and southbound. There is an overhead pass for pedestrians wishing to cross the train tracks named Andrew's Bridge, after a youth named Andrew who was killed by a train while trying to cross the tracks.
History[]
Lisarow station opened 31 October 1892 as Jenkins Siding. It was then renamed Wyoming on 1 Feb 1902 and was finally given its current name, Lisarow, on 2 April 1902. The station closed on 29 April 1974 and re-opened later at an unknown date.[1]
In the early 2020s, two new lifts were built, and various other accessibility improvements were made, at Lisarow as part of the Transport Access Program. Construction began in September 2020 and finished in November 2021.[2][3]
