Narara railway station is located in Narara on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia on the Newcastle & Central Coast Line. The station has two platforms. Platform 1 (Pacific Highway side) has trains heading from Newcastle to Central, and Platform 2 (Narara Valley Drive side) has trains heading from Central to Newcastle (subject to change during trackworks). The station is served by intercity trains to Sydney and Newcastle. The platforms are only 4 cars long, even though many Central Coast trains are 8 cars long, though this is not a problem with some trains which have selective door locks. When returning to Narara station by train, passengers must travel in the rear 4 cars.
The service frequency is approximately one train per hour in each direction on weekdays, and one train every 2 hours on weekends. In peak hours, there are often two or three trains in the hour.
